Description: L547 x W185mm

Shield with grip cut from one piece; shield is oval and has several dents on outer surface; incised with vertical lines on outer surface & chevrons on inner surface; remains of red pigment in the incisions. Donated by R. F. Wilkins who purchased it from Norman Hardy who may have obtained it from Harry Stockdale.

Trish Barnard advises that this type of shield is typical of those made by groups around Townsville and undecorated (Henry 2013).
